"Amazing find! In a sea of just so-so uptown Mexican food, Agave & Maiz, stands out. Beautiful sophisticated interior. Super attentive, friendly, timely service. And the food is outstanding. The guac with warm sautéed shrimp was new for me and took guacamole to a whole new level. The tostones with chicken tinga and my carnitas burrito were both beautifully plated and super tasty. Lots of flavor here with a deft hand applied to the spice levels. My favorite bite (not shows here) was a ‘special request’ taste of their home made chorizo. This was, by far, the best chorizo I have ever eaten. Next time, I will order the chorizo and fried egg burrito bowl!!!!"

"I found this place off of TikTok and let me tell you it did NOT disappoint! The food was great I highly recommend getting the birria nachos and the “Fresh Guacamole” it had a unique twist with pineapples and it’s very tasty. We also got the chicken tacos and tacos duros. Everything was just great. The waiter Richar is an absolute sweetheart and so are the others. Everyone is very friendly and courteous. The atmosphere was on point. Great music, lighting, and great vibes. Prices are great and reasonable I Highly recommend coming here."

"Actually the food here was excellent. I ordered pork enchiladas with green salsa and they had that subtle flavor that only comes from well done food . The nachos were excellent as well. No cheap nacho cheese and the chorizo was excellent. The restaurant is beautiful. They obviously hired an interior designer. I thought the couch was a bit low and not firm enough. It is a lounging couch not a dining couch. The waitress was excellent."

"Stopped in here on Saturday evening. Been wanting to try it. The place was fairly empty. Had the tacos and a few mezcalitas!! Everything was delicious! Our server, Gino, was great! I look forward to coming back for brunch or happy hour. Really need to get the word out on this great addition to our neighborhood so it’s a success!"

"Great seasoning! Even tho we came at the very end Staff was friendly enough to still serve us with great attention! Food price slightly more expensive than average for Mexican Food, but definitely worth it, Micheladas are okay and there’s no many choices for salsa. Portions are somewhat big, just enough to make one hungry dude satisfied. Lastly the atmosphere was warm and classy casual."

"I’ve been here twice so far and have had a great experience! The enchiladas tinga are DELICIOUS, great portion size as well. My son enjoyed the carne asada tacos. The guacamole was fresh and tasty, lovely presentation. Service is friendly and attentive and the decor is cute. We’ll definitely be back."

"I go frequently to this spot, about once a week when every time I get paid, and as a person who comes from Mexican descent, I can tell you, this place is THE REAL DEAL. The food is savory and flavorful with a sufficient variety of dishes to choose from. The staff are very efficient, attentive and helpful. The architect who worked on the decor and interior design is none other than the owner of the store, whom took inspiration from Mexican culture and brung it all to life on the walls of the business. I always have great experiences at this spot"
